Short description of the project:

The fundamental determinant of the development of smart cities is their sustainability. The city’s innovation potential can only be achieved on sustainable grounds.

The core objective of the SmartCity.Energy & Environment project is to make the smart city more energy efficient and more sustainable in resource management, protecting the environment and maintaining the quality of life of citizens, relying on the inputs gathered through the fundamental platform of the smart city, both through planning approach and everyday work, through the development of complete innovation platforms. Apart from the more responsible and efficient use of city infrastructure and natural resources, the viability of a smart city also makes economic sustainability, social collaboration and inclusive. This project consists of five modules:

EnergyEfficiency, which aims to target and manage energy efficiency in a smart city environment;

KPI Evaluator whose objective is to develop and monitor economic indicators in the area of ​​energy efficiency and sustainable environment, then the project;

SmartWaste with the aim of developing a complete solution for efficient waste management in the city; Smart Lighting Network launched with the aim of developing an integrated solution for effective public lighting management and complementary infrastructure;

EmPower module, which develops IT and social platform for deployment of energy efficiency projects through the activation of end users. By implementing this project within a smart city, exploitation of existing infrastructure is ensured in a modern, socially acceptable, energy and resource efficient manner. City services cease to be the subject of congestion and waste of energy and resources. This project, through an analysis of the current state of affairs, the development of new solutions, the monitoring of the indicators and the devoted involvement of citizens, provides a powerful link between the current resources of the city and the new systems, from the technical, social and economic side. Through the analysis of the current state of affairs, the development of new solutions and the monitoring of key indicators from the technical, social and economic side comes to full connectivity of current city resources with the newly developed systems of the entire CEKOM for smart cities.

The SmartCity.Energy & Environment project provides clear, inclusive and collaborative features to end users – citizens of the smart city – the ability to participate directly in the development of energy efficiency and sustainability of a smart city in order to maintain and increase the quality of life in the city.
